Texas A&M University - Central Texas

For writers of all ability levels and all stages of the writing process!

Thanks for choosing the University Writing Center (UWC) for help with your overall writing process and various writing assignments/tasks! Please take some time to familiarize yourself with some of the UWC's policies and procedures:

  • An instructional video for how to make an appointment is available in the "University Writing Center" Canvas Community on the home page.
  • Appointments are available in 1/2 hour and 1 hour increments. Choose the appointment length that works best for you!
  • Students are allowed up to 2 hours of tutoring per week. If you feel that you need more than 2 hours of tutoring, limited exceptions can be made by discussing your situation with Dr. Bruce Bowles Jr. Email him at
  • You can cancel or modify appointments up to 8 hours in advance. If you cancel less than 8 hours before your appointment, or fail to show for your appointment, you will be marked as a no-show. Once you receive 3 no-shows, your account will be locked. To unlock your account, you will need to speak with Dr. Bruce Bowles Jr. No-shows prevent other students from making appointments; please be considerate of your fellow students.
  • Once your account has been locked twice, the UWC reserves the right to limit or remove your access to the UWC.
  • Any instance where a student is perceived to be rude, insulting, and/or aggressive towards a tutor will be dealt with immediately. Any such instance that is severe enough in nature may result in losing access to the UWC's services.

If you have any questions about the UWC's policy and procedures, please contact Dr. Bruce Bowles Jr. at and/or speak with a UWC representative.

*In the event that you have any difficulties making an appointment via WCOnline, please let Dr. Bruce Bowles Jr. know immediately at and/or speak with a UWC representative. We are happy to assist you and/or provide alternative accommodations if necessary.
